The Cluster Digital Africa is delighted by the active participation of young Africans at the forum from April 26th to 27th in Addis Ababa, in partnership with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, UNDP Africa, and the African Union. This gathering brought together young leaders from all 54 African countries to influence the future outcomes of the upcoming United Nations Future Summit. Their involvement demonstrates the strong commitment of African youth to the development and prosperity of the continent.
This forum, a preparatory event aiming to galvanize the involvement of African youth in shaping the outcomes of the upcoming United Nations Future Summit, builds upon the African Youth Charter and the United Nations' commitment to empowering young people. It seeks to pave the way for a more sustainable and peaceful future by harnessing the potential of African youth.
The 5?? themes and 1?? vision discussed at the forum include:
???? Sustainable Development and Financing: Strategies for inclusive growth and support for Agenda 2063, #SDGs. ???? International Peace and Security: Conflict resolution and counter-terrorism efforts in Africa. ???? Science, Technology, and Innovation: Progress and challenges such as ethical AI and digitization. ???? Youth and Future Generations: Involvement of youth in active decision-making. ???? The forum's objective is to revitalize multilateralism and accelerate the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. It adopts an integrated approach, focusing on both Agenda 2063 and Agenda 2030. Specifically, the forum aims to:
